Our location at the heart of a traditional cereal growing area means we can utilise exceptionally high levels of locally grown cereals and field beans very cost effectively. These unadulterated, wholesome ingredients form the cornerstone of every Nugget ration. Grain handling & manufacturing efficiency both have a big bearing on final feed cost, so we have made huge investments in our facilities over the years to maximise efficiencies in all areas of grain intake, preservation and storage.
Grain quality is of course vital. This starts at seed selection & is built on by working closely with and advising our growers on a daily basis during the growing season. At harvest all our grain is cleaned & screened before it enters our stores. All our Grain suppliers have to be members of the Irish Grain Assurance Scheme (IGAS) Our Grain Pricing Structure is specifically set up to reward quality. The solid markets we have built up for our Nugget Animal Feeds range are such that our requirements for grain currently exceed our harvest intake capacity.
We see a viable future for this business, we are totally committed to it & we see the long term profitability of grain growing as integral to it. We want to continue to work closely with our grain suppliers & do all we can to help ensure a viable future for everybody involved.
