This ration is designed to be fed to weanlings /strong calves from 5 months up to 12 months & older if required.
Calves & Weanlings have a lot of growing to do. Growth is about laying down new muscle & bone tissue. So growing animals respond well to good levels of protein and energy in their diet.
This is particularly true for those animals with high growth rate potential such as continental type bull weanlings.
Barley, Wheat & Beans are the very best ingredients available for young stock. This ration contains generous levels of all 3, properly balanced with good protein & fibre sources.
When combined with good grass /forage management, this ration will deliver excellent growth rates in weanlings .
Formulated to 16% Cr. Protein, it should be fed at 2 to 4 kgs /head / day. If carefully managed it can be fed safely up to ad lib levels.

Feeding Reccomendations

To ensure optimum thrive, a balanced ration should be offered from 7 Days old, in conjunction with Wonderthrive. It should be replaced daily until calves intakes are satisfactory & consistent. Preferably this would be in the form of a coarse ration (eg. Nugget Cooked Calf Crunch or Nugget Calf Crunch Follower) This will ensure optimal development of the calf’s rumen & thereby pave the way for good daily dry matter intakes & calf performance from an early age. Ensure clean water is available to the calves at all times.

The digestive system of the older calf/weanling is fully developed and so is able to handle a more energy dense feedstuff without suffering digestive upset.

So we have increased starch content in this ration to deliver excellent growth rates and confirmation in calves & weanlings.

This is our market leader in calf rations. Although ideally used as a follow on to Cooked Calf Crunch No.1, it is perfect for rearing calves of all ages up to and beyond weaning.

This is a highly nutritious very palatable feedstuff that has shown unrivalled intakes and daily liveweight gain in farm trials.

It’s fibre content is specifically designed to be slightly higher than that for the No.1 in order to compliment the increasingly fibrous nature of the older calf’s diet.

Minerals, finer ingredients and live yeast are pelletted to ensure even intakes of these vital components.

For optimum thrive, aim to get intakes up to 2 kgs/head/day as soon as possible.

An ideal ration for introducing calves to solid food and should be fed from 7 days old up to approx 2 months old.

Formulated using only the choicest ingredients, this ration is full of the most easily digested ingredients and is extremely palatable.

It will really encourage excellent early intakes of solid food without causing digestive upset.
