Our core business is the manufacturing and distribution, at both wholesale and retail level of Animal feeds, Farm fertilisers and Agricultural Seeds. The retailing and wholesaling of Agrochemicals, Farm Hardware, Twine and Polythene are also integral parts of our business.
MANUFACTURING
To service our expanding customer base as effectively as possible, we have installed modern, high capacity feed, seed and fertiliser manufacturing facilities at Rath. The fact that we are packaging feeds, seeds and fertilisers on the same site at Rath means we can offer our customers great choice, flexibility, excellent service and great value for money.
Our feed mill at Rath has a 25 tonnes per hour capacity, and one of the most modern animal feed packaging & palletising systems available. Each individual tonne of Nugget feed is mixed individually in a highly accurate computerised mixing unit. This ensures accuracy down to a minute level and guarantees absolute consistency in each formulation.
The fertiliser plant in Rath is state of the art & extremely accurate. It will blend at up to120 tonnes per hour. A vital part of our Target fertiliser joint venture business, was the recent construction of a totally new, high capacity, fertiliser plant beside Belview port in Waterford, along with 64,000 sq. ft of storage.
Cereal & Bean seed assembly has been an important avenue of growth for Grennans also. It involves the careful selection, propagation, harvesting, and storage, screening and cleaning of specific Cereal & Field Bean varieties. This business developed out of our very specific requirement for high quality raw materials for our Animal feeds business. It now ties in seamlessly with our other manufacturing processes and forms an integral part of the service and choice we want to offer our customers.
IMPORTATION
We have formed a joint venture company, Target Fertilizers, with the Cooney Furlong group of Co. Wexford. Target Fertilisers was set up to facilitate the importation, manufacturing and marketing of fertilisers

WHOLESALING
J Grennan & Sons wholesale farm inputs to customers all over Ireland. Our central location in the country and our high profile in the retail sector have enabled us to develop this aspect of our business very successfully, particularly over the last 20years. We now have an entire network of wholesale outlets, scattered right across Ireland, stocking our products. As well as Nugget Feeds, & Target Fertilisers, we have also developed large wholesale Polythene, Twine & Agrochemical business.
Our unique ability to offer a large choice of agricultural inputs at one location / “pick up point” means our customers can make considerable savings for themselves in terms of their own haulage and storage osts. Grennans now effectively act as a “One Stop Shop” for a growing number of our customers.

RETAILING
The retailing of farm inputs to our local farmers is where J Grennan & Sons started and it remains the heartbeat of our business to this day. We owe much of our current success to the tremendous support and loyalty shown to us down the years by our local beef, sheep, dairy and tillage farmers.
Our local retail business now consists of four outlets at Rath, Kilcormac, Tullamore and Rosemount. From these 4 branches we retail a complete range of farm inputs. They also serve as important intake points for grain and distribution points for our Bulk Fertiliser spreading operations.
